Is this the tiniest bedroom in West Yorkshire?!

It was a pleasure working with @mrkamal.x on this spare room revamp.
We designed this to suit an already existing structure which I couldn't move.
Using Oak veneer birch ply we managed to create this smart, minimalistic solution consisting of handcrafted staircase, bed and storage.

All work from start to finish by Coates Carpentry, right from the initial design idea through to fitting the end product.

I've recently been putting together some sample boards for clients visiting the workshop. They're a great way to see the different finishes up close and get a real feel for what your bespoke project will look like before we get started. Whether this be alcove units, kitchens, built in wardrobes, media walls ... Owt you want!

If you've got a project in mind you're more than welcome to book in a meeting to have a look through the samples and chat about your ideas 💡💡

Both units cater for books, record player & vinyl collection as well as internal cupboard storage. Both units made to measure for a lovely customer in Saltaire.

Two bespoke made alcove units hand finished in a Benjamin Moore - Cream Froth with warm white LED lighting paired with a wireless controller.

Complete with shaker doors, decorative cornice detail, tiered book casing throughout and a fish tank will eventually sit within the opening on the right hand side 🐠🐟

Cosy much? I think Cosmo is. A made to measure fitted alcove unit which utilises the space perfectly, finished with warm white LED lighting.

A minimal kitchen design is all about keeping things simple and easy. Clean lines, fewer colors and focusing on function.

The last project for 2025. This was making use of an awkward space in an upstairs bedroom which covers a Comms unit, hot water tank and manifold system within the property which was installed when the house was renovated.

Trying to utilise the space as much as possible creating an upper storage locker with additional internal storage and hanging rail for coats & jackets. Complete with series of tall shaker doors.

This makes for a tidy & thought-out bespoke solution.

Birch Ply floating shelves - Once cut and dry fitted, I like to router a channel which houses a small strip of timber. This can then be fitted within the alcove opening to create the floating shelf look

Latest project - A portable DJ booth complete with sliding door vinyl storage, @blum_uk tip push open drawer box which houses a turntable, mixer and Alexa.

This will sit alongside the customers juke box, Surely that's enough for any great party?!

Finished with soft black @eggeruk internals, @finsauk externals and sprayed @farrowandball Calluna.

Recent project - 1 of 3 bespoke made internal doors. These were to replace the old batten and brace doors fitted from the original barn conversion.

Made to the client's specifications to allow natural light to flow into darker rooms of the house. Supplied white primed and finished with black iron mongery and gothic style hardware

Making the most of an awkward boiler set up. Here's an answer to a client's dated cupboard scenario, maximising the space.

Fitted in an air BnB with guests in mind, for weekends away and quick pit stops to unpack.

From initial site meeting, to drawings, to finalising designs, to build & install.

Finished with @finsauk, a natural Lancaster oak @eggeruk and a @farrowandball salvage blue. Storage with pull down/hanging rail either side along with desk & drawers.
